Laura McKellar
Laura McKellar is a Melbourne-ian based graphic illustrator whose embroidered animal masks make my little sewing fingers twitch due to their intricacy and detail. The close up views are my favourites, simply lovely.

I'm Not There
"I am against nature. I don't dig nature at all. I think nature is very unnatural. I think the truly natural things are dreams, which nature can't touch with decay."

Lolita
Thus, neither of us is alive when the reader opens this book. But while the blood still throbs through my writing hand, you are still as much part of blessed matter as I am, and I can still talk to you from here in Alaska. Be true to your Dick. Do not let other fellows touch you. Do not talk to strangers. I hope you will love your baby. I hope it will be a boy. That husband of yours, I hope, will always treat you well, because otherwise my specter shall come at him, like black smoke, like a demented giant, and pull him apart nerve by nerve. I am thinking of aurochs and angels, the secret of durable pigments, the prophetic sonnets, the refuge of art. And this is the only immortality you and I may share, my Lolita.

Texstyle
As I walk to the mailbox I see the letter that tells me that after hours and hours of sewing, multiple broken needles, lots of money, multiple unnecessary spotlight visits, maniacal laughs and tears, sleepless nights and superior concentration the hard work has paid off, I have been accepted into this years Texstyle exhibition from the 29th of November to the 5th of December at the teacher's federation conference centre!
Texstyle is also displayed at the Craft and quilt fair in Sydney, Canberra, Rosehill racecourse and Newcastle.
To people who can't sew, I couldn't, just do textiles, even though silly teachers at school tell you that you'll fail by doing a practical subject by correspondence, its fun really and this is the best feeling ever.
This is my major work which was inspired by the picture book and movie "Where The Wild Things Are."
I am sorry for the ridiculous faces I am pulling.
Also thank you to my teacher Dianne Grose who is amazing and without her I'd be lame, and congratulations to my other distance ed-ers who were accepted as well.

Sally Mann's photography captures the confusing emotions and developing identities of children and adolescents. Mann's photographs are swirling, ethereal images with a center of preternatural clarity.

Andy Irons
Andy Irons is just one of those guys that had always made me want to be a surfer, unfortunately I never really have and I think it should go to the top of the list of things to do. Andy was an inspiration to many, he is a legend and will never be forgotten. My prayers and best wishes go out to his family and friends.

Movember
My absolute favourite month of the year, when men and boys around the world do their best to grow a mo. Each year Movember is responsible for the sprouting of moustaches on thousands of men’s faces in Australia and around the world, with the sole aim of raising vital funds and awareness for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer and depression in men.
Men sporting Movember moustaches, known as Mo Bros, become walking, talking billboards for the 30 days of November and through their actions and words raise awareness by prompting private and public conversation around the often ignored issue of men’s health.
Supported by the women in their lives, Mo Sistas, Movember Mo Bros raise funds by seeking out sponsorship for their Mo growing efforts. The rules are simple; register online at Movember.com and start the month of Movember clean shaven, before growing a Mo.
For the mo sisters that can't grow a mo but want in on the action, check out the link to this website http://www.imadeyouabeard.com/ to have a lovely lady make you a mo/beard, any type of facial hair is lovely.

crocodile
this California semi psychedelic band filled my mind with thoughts of summer, the beach and bonfires, and even the violent climax didn't spoil this, I think I'll be dancing to the beat all night long whilst thinking of the lovely bearded man with tattoos in this video clip for 'hearts of love',

Banana Bread
what you'll need:
5 ripe bananas
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup melted butter
how to:
preheat oven to 180C or 160C fan forced
mix the banana, sugar and butter all together in a giant bowl
add the flour, eggs and vanilla with a wooden spoon until combined
(mixture should be a medium consistency, so add a touch of flour if too runny)
put into a bread tin lined with glad bake
cook until you can stick a knife in and its not covered in goo (roughly 1 hour give or take)
take it out and let it cool a bit
and then try really hard not to eat it all at once

Bluebird
there's a bluebird in my heart that
wants to get out
but I'm too clever, I only let him out
at night sometimes
when everybody's asleep.
I say, I know that you're there,
so don't be
sad.
then I put him back,
but he's singing a little
in there, I haven't quite let him
die
and we sleep together like
that
with our
secret pact
and it's nice enough to
make a man
weep, but I don't
weep, do
you?
